Meet Skip Freeman, CEO, Founder, and Senior Technical Recruiter.
With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Skip is an expert in recruiting for the Building Automation and Smart Buildings niche.
But his experience doesn’t stop there. Skip is a degreed mechanical engineer with 12 years of experience working on commercial HVAC systems. He entered the controls field at the inflection point between pneumatic and direct digital control, which means he’s seen the industry evolve firsthand.
Skip founded his own recruiting firm 20 years ago, and for many years, he focused on recruiting for a variety of industries – from manufacturing and industrial operations to SaaS sales, facilities management firms, and mechanical contractors. He’s recruited senior executives, and sales and marketing professionals, engineers (mechanical, electrical, civil, structural), and controls professionals.

In 2018, he honed-in on the niche of Building Automation and Smart Buildings, driven by his desire to make a positive impact on the future of our planet.
As a US Army Veteran and graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Skip also brings a unique perspective to the table. He served in the US Army Corps of Engineers as both a Combat Engineer and Construction Engineer, which means he knows how to get things done in high-pressure situations.

With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Kyle is an expert in BAS controls systems such as Siemens APOGEE, Johnson Controls Metasys, Distech, Niagara, ALC, and more. But Kyle isn’t just any recruiter – he’s an experienced BAS controls professional himself.
From Trenches to Management
Kyle has done it all – from installation and engineering to programming and troubleshooting, with both proprietary and non-proprietary languages. He’s worked on a variety of projects, ranging from chemical control rooms to the BAS for a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. He’s even worked on a radioactive waste management complex – talk about experience!
